Dave Smith's legacy is cemented as one of the most influential figures in the development of electronic music. His groundbreaking designs, such as the Prophet-5, the first programmable polyphonic synthesizer with 3 Oscilators and Enhanced Ladder Filter, revolutionized the way music was created and performed.

Smith's instruments became the defining sound of the 1980s, used by countless iconic artists from Depeche Mode to Stevie Wonder, and helped shape the landscape of pop music as we know it today. His passion for innovation and relentless pursuit of sonic excellence earned him numerous awards, including a Technical Grammy Award in 2013.

Originally known as Sequential Circuits, the company was rebranded as WEB Sequential in 2018 after Yamaha returned the name to Smith. Under his continued leadership, WEB Sequential has remained at the forefront of synthesizer design, releasing critically acclaimed instruments such as the Prophet-6 and the OB-6.
